SPONSOR WELCOME: PRESENTING SPONSOR IOC RIO TINTO
Labrador City, NEWFOUNDLAND AND LABRADOR – Cain’s Quest is thrilled to welcome Rio Tinto’s Iron Ore Company of Canada (IOC) as the presenting sponsor of this year’s 20th Anniversary race.
“Cain’s Quest showcases the resilience, hospitality, and sheer spirit of Labrador. As presenting sponsor, IOC is proud to stand with the racers, volunteers, and host communities, and to support the organizers’ safety‑first approach to this landmark 20th anniversary event,” says Mark Arkell, General Manager, Mine & Ore Delivery System, RT IOC.
Cain’s Quest Board Chair and race Founder Todd Kent says as a world-class, bi-annual snowmobile endurance race across the wilds of Labrador, a presenting sponsor is essential to the safe and fun operations of the event.
“IOC Rio Tinto has supported Cain’s Quest, and its mission, for many years and we are grateful and excited to welcome them back as a presenting sponsor of the race,” Kent says.
“Cain’s Quest wouldn’t be possible without the incredible support of the communities and people of Labrador, the individuals who give of their time, and the generosity of financial supporters including local business and government agencies.”
For more than 70 years IOC has been one of Labrador’s largest employers and contributes more than $1 million per year to community initiatives.
“IOC’s sponsorship of Cain’s Quest reflects our long‑term commitment to the people and communities of Labrador. Beyond race week, our investment focuses on lasting, positive outcomes and our respect for the people and places that make Labrador extraordinary,” Arkell says.
In addition to IOC, other significant sponsors of this year’s race include Innu Development Limited Partnership, Tacora Resources, Altius Minerals, Town of Labrador City, Municipal Group of Companies,Town of Wabush, and Graybar.
“In just a few weeks on Feb. 22, 2026, two-person teams will take to the trails and backwoods of Labrador to compete against nature and themselves for glory and a $125,000 purse,” Kent says. “We’re so excited to welcome the world back to Labrador to experience the rush of our 20th Anniversary race.”

About Cain’s Quest
Cain’s Quest snowmobile endurance race, is one of the most extreme winter races in the world. This high-energy race began in 2006, and sees teams of two snowmobilers traverse thousands of kilometres through rough, all-natural terrain. The name Cain’s Quest comes from Jacques Cartier’s famous expedition in which he described Labrador as “The land God gave to Cain.”
As the Cain’s Quest’s team, racers, and volunteers past and present come together to celebrate the 20th Anniversary, we invite the world to come discover the people, place, and the thrilling experience of this extraordinary race.
