News Report: Cain’s Quest Reports Injury to Racer in Cartwright, NL

Labrador City, NL, March 4, 2014 – There was collision between Cain’s Quest racer Lloyd Rex Rich (Team #30 Manteu from Natuashish, NL) while on his snowmobile and a motor vehicle on a road in Cartwright, Checkpoint #8 on the 3,300 route through Labrador. At this time, we are told there are no life-threatening injuries. The racer is in stable condition and is being airlifted to Happy Valley-Goose Bay for further examination.

This means a scratch for Team 30.

“We are out for 2014,” said John Nui, Lloyd’s racing partner. “Lloyd’s okay though. He still smiles every now and then.”

Cain’s Quest is the world’s toughest and longest snowmobile endurance race. It is an incredible off-trail riding adventure where teams of two battle in an all-out race through deep snow and thick wooded areas in some of the most remote parts of Labrador. The race is managed by Cain’s Quest Inc., a volunteer-run, non-profit organization.
