CAIN’S QUEST 2026

AND THEY’RE OFF!

Labrador City, NEWFOUNDLAND AND LABRADOR – Cain’s Quest 2026, presented by Rio Tinto IOC, is officially underway as all 18 teams have officially crossed the start line to launch one of the most exhilarating and challenging experiences of their lives.

Our 18 pairs of racers departed from the start line in one-minute intervals starting at 10 am this morning. The team’s recorded times will begin at the start line and will be adjusted for time differentials at the Fermont checkpoint and at each checkpoint throughout the race.

Todd Kent, Cain’s Quest founder and chair of the board of directors, says the board is ready, volunteers have assembled, and dignitaries have been invited to experience the natural beauty and high-octane adventure of the bi-annual event.

Teams will always be on the clock from now through mandatory checkpoints, and will have access to emergency checkpoints and personnel if needed. Racers will ride day and night, tracked on the YellowBrick App live on our website and by GPS, until they complete the race. The winning team will take home a cash prize of $100,000, with second place winning $15,000, and third $10,000.

Cain’s Quest is made possible by the incredible support of the communities and people of Labrador, the individuals who give of their time, and the generosity of financial supporters including Rio Tinto IOC, Innu Development Limited Partnership, Tacora Resources, Altius Minerals, Municipal Group of Companies, and a number of other corporate and municipal supporters.

Racers can be tracked online at https://cainsquest.com/tracking/ and through the YellowBrick App on Android and iPhone, also downloadable through the race’s website.

About Cain’s Quest Cain’s Quest snowmobile endurance race, is one of the most extreme winter races in the world. This high-energy race began in 2006, and sees teams of two racers traverse thousands of kilometres through rough, all-natural terrain. The name Cain’s Quest comes from Jacques Cartier’s famous expedition in which he described Labrador as “The land God gave to Cain.”

As the Cain’s Quest’s team, racers, and volunteers past and present come together to celebrate the 20th Anniversary, we invite the world to come discover the people, place, and the thrilling experience of this extraordinary race.
