2012 registration closes January 31st, 2012 and with many more teams left to register, the Cain’s Quest Organizing Committee anticipate at least a total 30 teams for the New Year. This year will be the first year Cain’s Quest will have a husband and wife team at the start line. Returning racer Jason Paul from Labrador City has registered for Cain’s Quest 2012 with his wife Coreen and organizers and race fans are excited to see a woman step up to the challenge. In 2010, Cain’s Quest had a husband and wife team on the roster but unfortunately with the cancellation of the race, having a woman at the start line never came to fruition. In 2011, Cain’s Quest proposed an all-women’s event with a shorter racer route and due to low registration numbers, that event was cancelled as well.
There will be a lot of first’s for Cain’s Quest 2012, with a new prize purse structure, a new province represented at the start line with the registration of Robert Newton and Joey Lukan from Saskatchewan, our first female racer and new communities included in what is sure to be our longest Cain’s Quest route ever.
We will be counting down the days until race day on March 17th, 2012 in Labrador City.
